About This Role

Senior Systems Integration & Test Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Systems Integration & Test Engineer to drive system-level integration, validation, calibration maturity, and release confidence for our battery modules and packs. This role operates at the transition point between component development and integrated system behavior, customer validation, and commercial release readiness. You won't replace subsystem ownership. You'll ensure those subsystems function together as a coherent, validated product that meets customer requirements.

Reporting & Scope

  • Reports to the Manager of Product Integration
  • Works closely with Product Engineering, BMS Hardware and Software, Manufacturing Engineering, Labs, and Customer Engineering
  • Primary scope: system behavior from prototype through production through early field
  • Experience target: 5 to 7 years in system-level integration, validation, or release-adjacent roles

What You'll Do

  • Assume integration ownership once subsystems reach functional maturity, coordinating validation of interactions between battery hardware, BMS behavior, electrical protections, and thermal/mechanical constraints
  • Define and execute system-level validation that reflects customer duty cycles, environmental edge cases, and fault handling expectations
  • Support and verify system-level calibration changes including BMS limits, thresholds, and derating behavior, ensuring calibrations are stable, traceable, and release-ready
  • Work closely with embedded software and BMS teams to interpret system behavior, review logs, traces, and diagnostics, and read, understand, and debug embedded C code as needed to investigate issues and validate behavior under fault or boundary conditions
  • Act as a primary contributor to Technical Release Readiness Reviews: assemble validation evidence, known risks, and system behaviors that require awareness, and be prepared to recommend delay, conditional release, or additional mitigation when the data warrants it
  • Support manufacturing transition by validating system behavior on production-intent hardware and partnering with Manufacturing Engineering to identify integration-related failure modes
  • Support early customer pilots and deployments by analyzing system logs and field data, and ensure field learnings feed back into validation coverage, calibration updates, and release criteria
  • Mentor junior integration and test engineers

What You Bring

  • 5 to 7 years in system-level integration, validation, or release-adjacent roles (automotive, aerospace, electrification, or similar)
  • Cross-domain fluency across hardware, embedded/BMS, controls, and system test
  • Enough comfort with embedded C and embedded concepts to ask the right questions, validate behavior, and support release decisions
  • Experience with calibration, SPC, or system-level tuning in a product environment
  • Strong engineering judgment: you know the difference between "tests passed" and "system is ready"
  • Bonus: hands-on experience with battery systems, BMS platforms, or electrification launches

Who Thrives in This Role

  • You've already been in the room for real release discussions
  • You've supported at least one product through late-stage validation or launch
  • You've felt the gap between test results and true system readiness
  • You want more responsibility, not just more tasks

Why Join

  • Release influence · You won't just execute tests. You'll shape the decisions that determine whether a product ships.
  • Cross-domain ownership · Work across hardware, embedded software, manufacturing, and field support rather than being siloed into one discipline
  • Growth · This role is a proving ground for principal-level system ownership and engineering leadership
  • Real impact · Your validation and judgment become the backbone of product quality that customers rely on

Compensation

  • Base salary: $105,000 to $130,000
  • Meaningful incentive stock option grant may be offered
  • Benefits package included
